A Recovery Event in Swainsboro, organized by Ogeechee’s own Danny Coleman, Certified Peer Specialist at the Lighthouse Peer Program, was held at the Boneyard on Saturday, May 27, 2017 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Entertainment, Light Refreshments, and Speakers made the event a huge success, as it capped off “May is Mental Health Month”. Ogeechee staff in attendance were: Mary Margaret Schenk, Joanna Crews, Danny Coleman, Sharon Bush and Debra Paynes. Individuals from Ogeechee’s Lighthouse Peer Program and Braswell House enjoyed the festivities. Additionally, Tina Clements, Elizabeth Button, and Jakob Harper, newest CSBMG CPS and Respect Institute graduate, attended from CSBMG. Jakob and Joanna Crews, Ogeechee’s newest CPS, were speakers at the event.
May is Mental Health Month and the Community Service Board of Middle Georgia is partnering with the Carl Vinson VA to host a 4 hour recovery event on May 23, 2017 at 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM that we hope will leave veterans and citizens alike feeling inspired, uplifted and motivated to “Use Your Voice” Use Your Voice is the theme of our event. We will have a very special choir, personal testimonies of recovery and mental resource tables for the community. I hope you’ll be able to support our efforts by inviting persons served to take part in our event.
