Wellness Wednesday

The calendar does not say that it’s summer yet, but the temperatures are certainly signaling the season! Here are a few tips to help you stay healthy through these hot summer months to come:

Stay hydrated – be sure to drink plenty of fluids (non-alcoholic) while you are out in the heat – particularly if you are doing yard work or exercising and sweating. Some type of drink with electrolytes may come in handy if you are working out.

Protect your skin – there are lots of debates about the chemicals in sunscreens but find the safest one out there and if you are going to be out in the sun for prolonged periods, grab some of the sun protective clothing and hats to cover the top of your head where the sun is beating down.

Be kinder to your eyes – be sure to wear good quality sunglasses to protect your eyes.

Exercise outdoors but earlier in the day before the sun is directly overhead and hotter.

Let the kiddos run and get dirty in the great outdoors and don’t stress over it😊
