WOW! It is cold out there!!!! With cold weather come different expenses so I wanted to share a few tips for saving money during the cold days of winter.
Set your thermostat to 68 degrees and dress warmer. You could even lower it a bit more at night and using blankets to keep warm.
Close your curtains – heat can escape through windows and if you have ever sat next to a window without curtains on a cold day, you will know how much cold comes in too.
Make sure there are no air leads around windows, doors and vents.
Get a “smart” thermostat if possible.
Use your ceiling fans set to rotate clockwise when you are viewing them from below which pushes the warm air that collects near the ceiling down.
Make sure gas appliances are burning with a blue flame. Yellow flames are a sign of inefficiency.
Stay warm and stay safe!
