International Day of Friendship: Celebrating Bonds That Enrich Our Lives
Erica Stokes| July 30, 2024
The International Day of Friendship, celebrated on July 30, emphasizes the importance of friendship and the positive impact it has on our lives and communities. Established by the United Nations, this day highlights the role of friendship in promoting peace, happiness, and social harmony (United Nations, 2023).
At the Community Service Board of Middle Georgia (CSBMG), we believe in fostering connections and support networks that contribute to mental health and well-being. Friendship is a powerful tool for overcoming challenges and enhancing the quality of life (CSBMG, 2024).
Reaching out to friends, building new connections, and nurturing existing relationships can significantly improve our emotional health. Friends provide support, reduce feelings of loneliness, and offer a sense of belonging (Mayo Clinic, 2023).
