Monday Motivation

When we think of influence we may immediately think of social media “influencers” but who are they really and why should they influence us?    Each of us influence others daily by our actions, attitudes and more.   When we consider this in its entirety, it should make us more aware of what type of influence we are making on others.  Do we inspire them to take great actions filled with peace and love for humanity, or do we influence them to have a negative attitude and be filled with hate and cynicism?   We inspire each other, the children in our lives, our community and anyone we encounter.

To provide a positive and encouraging influence we can do the following:

LISTEN without interrupting and get an understanding of what others are thinking.  We may not agree with them, but we can hear them.

Build TRUST.   People tend to be influenced by those who they trust.

Lead by EXAMPLE.  If someone says one thing but does another, they are not providing a positive influence.

ACKNOWLEDGE others good works.   Show appreciation for what others do – it is not always about you.

Allow others to use their VOICE and share their ideas.  Support their ideas and don’t automatically shut them down.

Show INTEGRITY.   Do what you say you will do.
