Monday Motivation

This time of year, (while it is the “most wonderful time of the year” according to the song –  can get a little hectic and finding a way to remain calm is key to thriving during the season.   The hustle and bustle of Christmas can be stressful for many reasons such as, spending money for gifts that we may not have saved up for, running out of time to do what we need, cooking, cleaning, seeing relatives that may or may not bring out the best in us….   See where I am going with this?

If you feel stressed or a little anxious, find a quiet spot to retreat to for a few minutes to gather your thoughts.   Practice box breathing – a deep breath in through your nose for a count of 4, hold for a count of 4, breathe out through your mouth for a count of 4, and hold for a count of 4.  Repeat this for a few times sitting quietly with your eyes closed maybe.   Return to your normal breathing patterns for a few more minutes and see how you feel.

Always reach out to someone if you feel you need additional support of course.
