Monday Motivation

Have you heard the term “anti-goals”?  These are the things that we intentionally avoid because they are obstacles to success – draining our energy and holding us back.

Anti-goals can help you refine focus and reduce distractions; they can help you to identify and eliminate obstacles and help you work toward improved outcomes.

Identify what you don’t want – habits, commitments, or patterns

Identify pitfalls – what might get in your way

Avoid worst-case scenarios

Protect your time and energy using anti-goals as guardrails.

If you think of goals as the direction we intend to go, then think of the anti-goals as the map that tells you where the obstacles are.

Charlie Munger said ,“All I want to know is where I’m going to die, so I’ll never go there”..   Maybe that scenario is not a true anti-goal, but you get the point😊

Work backwards from the goal you want to achieve and think of the things that might block the way and your anti-goals would be the list you create to keep those from happening.
