Monday Motivation

When I saw this quote attributed to Warren Buffet this morning, it rang a bell. We talked about New Year’s Resolutions not being sustainable because they were unrealistic, and this quote is the same premise. We set our goals so high that we may not be able to reach them and give up because of this. If we set smaller goals and “step over” those on the way to the larger goal it gives us a sense of accomplishment or success.
If you have a task that seems too large to conquer, you may procrastinate and then that puts you in a much worse position because not only do you still have the task to complete but now in even less time. To make it easier, break the task down into components (1 foot bars) that you can complete (step over) quickly. Then before you know it, you have completed the task and essentially walked your way over the 7-foot bar.
