Turning Awareness Into Action: Building Communities of Hope

Substance use prevention begins with awareness, education, and access to reliable resources. Communities that encourage conversations about substance use and mental health can help reduce stigma and create opportunities for individuals to seek assistance.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, 2024) identifies strengthening protective factors, promoting supportive relationships, and reducing risk factors as important components of substance use prevention.

Through community education, partnerships, and behavioral health services, the Community Service Board of Middle Georgia works to connect individuals and families with resources that support prevention, treatment, and recovery.

Recovery is possible, and hope begins with connection. By working together, communities can turn awareness into meaningful action.
