Understanding Problematic Media Use

September 2025 | CSB of Middle Georgia

At CSBMG, we know families often have questions about what constitutes too much screen time. The Center of Excellence recently released a resource on Problematic Media Use—a term describing when screen habits begin to interfere with daily life, relationships, and emotional well-being.

The resource defines problematic media use, outlines screening tools for different age groups, and offers strategies for prevention and intervention. By recognizing early signs, families and clinicians can work together to promote healthy digital engagement.
