February is American Heart Month! ❤️

At Community Service Board of Middle Georgia, we recognize the vital connection between mental health and heart health. Research indicates that individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and chronic stress are at a higher risk of developing cardiovascular diseases (American Heart Association [AHA], 2023). Additionally, mental health conditions can contribute to behaviors that negatively impact heart health, such as poor diet, physical inactivity, and smoking (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2022).
This month, we encourage everyone to take proactive steps to support both heart and mental wellness:
✅ Manage stress through mindfulness, relaxation, and self-care techniques
✅ Stay active with regular physical activity, such as walking or yoga
✅ Eat heart-healthy foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins
✅ Prioritize mental health by seeking support from professionals when needed
Taking care of your mental well-being is a crucial step in maintaining a healthy heart. Let’s work together for a stronger heart and mind! 💙
