Stress Awareness Month: Building a Personalized Path to Wellness

Community Service Board of Middle Georgia (CSBMG)

Introduction

Stress Awareness Month is an opportunity to remind students, families, and educators that emotional wellness deserves daily attention. Academic demands, uncertainty, and burnout can challenge even the most resilient individuals, but personalized wellness strategies can create meaningful relief.

CSBMG supports whole-person behavioral health care, and that includes helping young people build routines that support their unique mental health needs.

A Personalized Path to Wellness

Wellness is not one-size-fits-all. Students benefit from identifying what works best for them, such as:

  • Morning routines
  • Journaling
  • Counseling services
  • Movement and exercise
  • Faith practices
  • Time outdoors
  • Social support
  • Therapy or peer groups

Primm (2026) emphasizes that when stress becomes persistent, reaching out for help early is one of the most effective steps toward emotional balance

When Immediate Support Is Needed

When feelings of overwhelm become too much, immediate crisis support is available. The Steve Fund’s partnership with Crisis Text Line provides culturally responsive support by texting STEVE to 741741, connecting individuals with a trained counselor 24/7.

CSBMG also encourages individuals in Middle Georgia to connect with local behavioral health services, crisis support, and outpatient resources when needed, or call 911 as needed, or call 911 as needed.

Conclusion

Stress is real, but support is always available. By creating personalized routines, strengthening relationships, and accessing professional resources, students and families can build a path toward long-term resilience and emotional wellness.
