What 2025 Taught Us: Awareness, Access, and Community Resources
Community Service Board of Middle Georgia (CSBMG)
Public engagement and education continue to play a vital role in strengthening behavioral health and IDD services. A review of National Center for STARTS Services’ most-read blog posts from 2025 highlights the topics that resonated most with communities nationwide, including developmental disabilities awareness, disaster response resources, depression screening, and food access (NCSS, 2025).
Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month remained a leading focus, underscoring the importance of visibility, advocacy, and inclusive practices. Similarly, posts addressing depression screening and disaster preparedness reflect growing recognition that mental health care must be accessible during both everyday challenges and times of crisis. Access to food and basic resources also emerged as a critical concern, reinforcing the link between social determinants of health and overall well-being.
These themes align closely with CSBMG’s mission to provide comprehensive, community-based services across Middle Georgia. Education, prevention, and connection to resources remain central strategies for reducing disparities and strengthening resilience. As communities move forward, continued awareness and shared learning will remain key drivers of positive change.
