First, there was the telegraph, then the telephone, then the fax machine, and now social media—a revolutionary way of communicating. Since its creation, social media has connected people like never before. Friends and family can stay in touch at any moment, and marketers have discovered new ways to reach consumers. With people using social media for an average of 144 minutes every day, its impact on society is undeniable.

We dream of the future and what it might look like, but what are we doing about it? If we intend to build that vision we have in our heads, we have to plan and prepare. We do this by becoming financially secure – paying off debt, saving money and building out our budgets to incorporate those dreams. Without a plan, how will you know when you arrive?

On Wednesday, June 12, we held “A Conversation With Patrick J. Kennedy,” the 15th episode in our Wellbeing Wednesdays virtual learning series. National Council President and CEO Chuck Ingoglia sat down with the former congressman and mental health advocate to discuss his new book, “Profiles in Mental Health Courage,” and the role resilience plays in addressing our nation’s mental health crisis.

The latest data from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing reveals that Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) are significantly improving access to care nationwide. In the past year alone, CCBHCs have served an estimated 3 million people across 40% of U.S. counties, breaking down barriers to lifesaving substance use treatment, crisis services, integrated care, and more for clients in both urban and rural settings (National Council for Mental Wellbeing, 2024).

So many times we hear people say that they have to get ready for summer so they can look good on the beach (or at least fit into their swimsuits)😊 The goal is to be fit for life! The earlier you begin living a healthy lifestyle the better your healthspan will be as you age.
